House Bill No. 881 cont.

An ACT to levy a privilege tax on motor vehicles and motorcycles for using the public roads and to provide for the registration of motor vehicles and motorcycles.

 

 Auditor to furnish tag for vehicles; dimensions of same.

Section 7.  The auditor of public accounts shall furnish the tax collector with a sufficient supply of tags for the vehicles and cycles taxed by this act from time to time, as needed. The tags for the electric motor vehicles, the commercial motor vehicles, and the motor vehicles shall be twelve inches wide and six inches high, and shall be white baked enameled tags.

 

 What tags to show; one to be on front and one on rear of vehicle.

   The number of the tag shall be written across the face of it, and the number of the tag shall represent the registration number; and the word “MISS” shall be written vertically at the right hand end of the tag, in black letters. The tags shall be furnished such owner in pairs; one shall be fastened immovably eighteen inches or more above the ground, at the front of the vehicle, with the number in an upright visible position so that it will be plainly legible at all times; the other shall be fastened likewise at the rear of the vehicle under the rear light so that the number shall be plainly legible at night even at a distance of sixty feet. The tags for the motor cycles shall be in every respect similar to the vehicle tags, with the exception that they shall be only six inches wide and three inches high. One shall have the number and word “MISS” on both sides and shall be fastened at the front of the cycle immovably in an upright position so that it will be plainly visible and legible at all times, from both sides; the other shall be fastened immovably at the rear of the cycle in an upright position so that it will be plainly visible and legible as all times from the rear of the cycle.
